No black light required. We've used a very high quality long lasting glow mixture which reaches full charge in about fifteen minutes of sunlight or strong florescent light (such as kitchen light or UV light---UV light will give a fast charging ultra bright glow as shown in the photos). Gorgeous glow will diminish over time, but can be charged over and over again for years of enjoyment. Glows brighter and longer than traditional glow powders or paints. I've used a combination "glows" for this pendant - mainly blues, but also greens and purples.
Colors are vibrant and crystal clear! Space image is set permanently in a filigree cage locket which is approximately 25mm (1 inch round). Charm is attached to a 24" matching link chain necklace (Rose Gold and Gold locket come with an 18 inch chain with 2 inch extender).
